Make sure that there is no strong stream of light, which can interfere with shooting

foto

Photos with a strong highlight is a result of light being too bright.

foto

If you don’t have enough light, photos will not be sharp or have strong shadows around a foot

Tips:

1. Do not take pictures near a window. The sun shouldn't shine into your phone camera. Move inside the room, if it's necessary.

2. Don't take pictures with the sun flares on the floor. Move aside from this place.

3. If you don't have enough light and pictures are fuzzy or there are strong shadows around a foot, choose a different time or use another room.

2 Find a place to seat comfortably.

You will need a chair and 3-6 clean sheets of A4 size paper (210 x 297)

The floor must be flat, without a carpet, otherwise the sheet of paper will be deformed.

Make sure that corners of the paper are not folded.

Tips:

1. Sit on the chair so your knees are in 90 degrees angle and your feet are perpendicular to the floor

2. The flooring shouldn’t be the same colour as your feet. Choose a room with a lighter of darker flooring.

3. Wet feet may create some difficulties; paper sheets can be deformed, if pressed up tightly to the floor, corners may fold widening their gap from the floor. If it happens, we recommend to use clear paper sheets every time your feet get wet. Please don't change the sheet until you end shooting one foot.

4. If it's possible, do not take pictures of your feet after work. Feet tend to be swollen and tired. This may distort the data.

1 Remove your shoes, socks and roll up trousers

If possible, roll up your pants up to the knees, tuck up a dress, baring a shin.

Remove your shoes, socks, stockings or tights of any colour (including nude)

Do not use nail polish in a contrasting color.

The nail polish in a contrasting colour can cause errors in a creation of 3D model. The result will be good if you don't use nail polish at all or use a transparent colour.

2 Sit on a chair and place your foot on the A4 size paper.

Put your foot so 2/3 of it would be placed on the paper and the heel would be on a floor.

The foot must be in a center of the paper, parallel to the sides of the sheet. Your foot should “look” straight ahead.

foto

The A4 sheet should be placed with the wide side in front of you. The heel must be on the floor.

Tips:

Put your foot on the sheet of paper and do not move it during the whole cycle of photo shoot. If this happens start all over again.

3 The corners should tightly lie down on the floor

Make sure that the sheet and corners are lying down on the floor.

If corners are lifted up, you can fold them in the other direction or try to rotate the sheet.

If the sheet is "wavy", change it

1. The sheets should be clear, straight, corners shouldn't be folded

3. It’s important that all corners are lying on the floor

4 Сlose toes together

Slightly close your toes together so the distance between them is minimal.

Wrong! The toes are too far from each other.

foto

Note, toes shouldn't be pulled up. It can deform your foot's length.

1. Don’t use much force to close toes, the space between them should be minimal yet natural.

2. The foot should fit stand on the floor and be relaxed. Redistribute the weight on the heel.

1 Position the knee over the heel.

During the photo shoot try to position the knee over the heel. The foot should fit stand on the floor.

To speed the process, ask your family or friends for help.

1. Draw a straight line from the knee to the heel in your mind. The line should be vertical.

2 Connect the outline with the paper itself and take a picture.

Accurately connect the outline of the paper with the paper itself and take a picture.

The camera of the phone is tilted in the opposite direction. Tilt the camera towards yourself so the outline and foot match.

1. To speed the process, ask your family or friends for help. Two to four test shots usually are enough to take pictures in Imiscan by yourself

2. Find the right angle so the camera icon appears on the screen. Then connect the outline and the sheet of paper.

3. The right angle is approximately 45 degrees. Every time the angle is not right, the camera icon will disappear.

4. Connect the outline and the sheet of paper. You don't need to be fully precise. It's important that all corners can be seen.

5. Connect the outline and the sheet of paper. The outline of the foot is shown to clarify which foot to take picture of.

3 All corners should be seen on each picture.

All corners should be seen on each picture. Control your shin so it's not close to any of the corners.

1. After some practice you will be able to connect the outline and sheet faster. The camera icon will appear on the screen when you find a right angle.

2. Wet feet may create some difficulties; paper sheets can be deformed, if pressed up tightly to the floor, corners may fold widening their gap from the floor. 4 When you have to redo a picture.

The photo is blurred? Please, take a picture one more time.

Check your fingers don’t cross the lens and flash.

Don’t change the foot’s position until the shoot is done from different angles

1. Accidentally you can close the lens of the flare and the photo will lose clarity. Please redo the photo if you notice the mistake.

2. Hold the phone so foreign objects, like a sleeve, don't get into the picture.

3. An app may experience system failures for various reasons (the direct sunlight on the lens, a weak Internet connection, etc.), thus, 3D model can be created with errors. If models are not correct, delete the measurement and create a new one.
